Season’s Greetings

Dear Cougar Families,

It is undeniable that living through this year has been stunningly difficult—for the world and for the Carson community. Some have lost jobs and loved ones, while many others simply lost their kitchen tables to children learning from home. As we come to the end of 2020, our hope is that this holiday season allows everyone space to be still and reflect on the good in our lives.

In such an uncharted season—when our ability to raise the funds necessary to sustain vital school programming and resources is uniquely challenged—this community has been exceptionally generous. Just last week, donations from the Cougar community brought in nearly $5,000 on Colorado Gives Day. Every PTA dollar raised supports Carson students and your patronage allows us to continue funding creative solutions to the many unprecedented challenges that have defined this (extra) extra-ordinary year. One recent example of this sort of real-time responsiveness is the purchase of innovative 360° livestream classroom cameras to bridge the gap between in-person and remote learners. 

Looking ahead to 2021 
This November we were unable to hold Carson's beloved annual auction due to pandemic conditions. In place of the auction, PTA will launch the new year with our first direct give campaign. Fundraising goals and other details will be available in January. We are hopeful the community continues to show the support that has always allowed Carson and its students to thrive.

Before We Go 
A few reminders as we disperse for winter break:

• Be sure to check with your child's teachers to be sure all due assignments have been submitted.

• Winter break can be a great time for independent creative learning:

  • Don't forget about the wide range of reading materials on Carson's online library.

  • For additional interactive content, check out our catalog of engaging at-home learning activities.

• Still need your Carson face mask? Email info@ptacarson.com to schedule pickup so your Carson Cougar(s) can mask up in style over break.

Most importantly, the PTA Board would like to thank Carson's amazing staff and irreplaceable teachers who dedicate themselves every day to keeping our kids safely-engaged and learning. We wish all of you the peaceful and restorative holiday break you so deserve.
